I'M SARAH

I’M A COUNTRY GIRL WITH BIG DREAMS, A MOM OF THREE GIRLS (GOOD THING I’M A WEDDING PLANNER), WEDDING EXPERT, AUTHOR, EDUCATOR, AND HOST OF THE SNAGGED PODCAST—ON A MISSION TO CHANGE THE WEDDING INDUSTRY FOR THE BETTER.

I’m also into hiking trails, Cadbury creme eggs, hot tamale candy, coffee, worship music, laughing, raising chickens, my Cirkul water bottle, quiet moments alone, and creating an authentic story worth sharing.

I didn’t always know how to plan a wedding. It was the failures, the lessons learned, and the incredible clients along the way that shaped me into the wedding planner I am today. They helped write the story I now get to share...

Two decades ago, you would’ve found me planning corporate events—grateful for the work, but deep down, I knew I was being called to something greater… something with more heart. I knew I belonged in the world of weddings.

At the age of 27, I had one person who believed in me enough to let me plan their wedding. That single act of trust lit a spark—and started a journey that brought me here. Thousands of weddings later, I’ve built a thriving planning business and a mission-driven career focused on changing the wedding industry for the better, one couple at a time. Today, you’ll find me rewriting the story that weddings have to be stressful—through the experiences, lessons, and love-filled stories I’m honored to share.

IT'S ALWAYS BEEN IN ME

I’ve always had a heart for service. This small-town girl grew up to become Miss Indiana and walked across the Miss America stage with that mission in mind. Serving others is in my DNA—it’s what I’ve always known how to do… well, that and plan weddings. Oh, and be a really great mom.

Sarah Lizabeth stands confidently on stage at the Miss America pageant, glowing under the spotlight. She wears a strapless, floor-length evening gown with a sparkling, beaded bodice and a sleek black skirt. Her hair is styled in an elegant low ponytail, paired with dazzling chandelier earrings. With a radiant smile and poised presence, she embodies grace and strength against a soft purple-lit backdrop. A defining moment in her journey of service, confidence, and transformation.
Sarah Lizabeth as a smiling toddler sits on a kitchen counter wearing a cozy pink onesie and an oversized brown tweed newsboy cap. The child is reaching up to adjust the hat playfully, with a joyful expression. The background features retro plaid wallpaper and a wooden paper towel holder, giving the photo a warm, vintage feel. The scene captures a sweet and nostalgic moment full of personality and charm.

IT DIDN’T START OUT GLAMOROUS

When I launched my wedding planning business, I had $40 in my bank account, zero idea how to plan a wedding, and a whole lot of faith that I could figure it out. I opened my wedding planning studio and a flower shop, poured everything I had into it—late nights, early mornings, and more trial-and-error than I can count. Before long, the business was thriving. From the outside, it looked like I had it all together.

But behind the scenes, I was walking through one of the hardest seasons of my life—a divorce that changed my life and my children’s lives forever. That chapter became my greatest lesson in what truly matters. I learned that success wasn’t just about booking clients—it was about discovering my deeper purpose. And I realized that my mission was so much bigger than planning a pretty wedding.

A beautifully set wedding reception space nestled in a glass-walled room surrounded by trees. Wooden farmhouse tables are adorned with lush white floral centerpieces, soft gray table runners, and neatly arranged place settings with glassware and napkins. A large circular chandelier with warm lights hangs above, casting a cozy glow. In the background, a woman—likely the planner or designer—is making final touches, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to the elegant setup. The scene captures a peaceful moment of preparation in a nature-inspired venue.
A joyful moment captured outdoors as a bride in a stunning lace wedding gown with a long flowing veil embraces her wedding planner, Sarah Lizabeth, who holds the bridal bouquet with a big smile. The groom, dressed in a white tuxedo jacket and black pants, watches the moment warmly. Surrounded by lush greenery and a peaceful garden setting, the image radiates gratitude, celebration, and the emotional connection between planner and couple on their big day.

CURRENTLY...

I’m probably drinking coffee, reading a good book (or writing one), walking my favorite trail, or juggling mom life while dreaming up new ways to make the wedding industry better. Oh—and let’s be real—I’m definitely working. I’m always working.

Want to know what lights me up? Helping brides realize they don’t have to lose themselves to plan a wedding. Busting the myth that wedding planning has to be stressful. Showing couples that clarity is possible—even when Pinterest says otherwise. Redefining what it means to plan a “dream day” by focusing on what actually matters. Sharing hard-earned lessons so you can write a love story that lasts longer than the walk down the aisle. Now, my greatest act of service is teaching others everything I’ve learned over the past two decades.

In case you’re new around here, I believe wedding planning becomes truly powerful when the process becomes the promise. And I can’t wait to show you exactly what that looks like.
